Help Us Create the Largest Mural In Utah at the Salt Lake Tennis and Health Club!

The Goal of the I-80 Mural Project is to beautify the I-80 corridor by creating the largest mural in Utah on the North Elevation of the Salt Lake Tennis and Health Club. This enormous project is being managed by local designers and artists with the full support of SLTHC.

We Need Your Help

We have a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the I-80 Mural Project. You can make a difference and be a part of this amazing project by helping us raise the money needed. All proceeds will be used for materials, equipment, artists, and the labor needed to complete the Mural. By donating you will be updated on the project’s progress and all donations will be listed as contributors.

The mural will cover the large concrete sound wall that faces I-80 along Parleys Trail, the lower portion of our fitness building, and the entire span of the tennis house. At approximately 13,795 square feet, this mural will be the largest of its kind in Utah and will become one of the most viewed pieces of public art in the country.

This mural has many benefits to the area and to SLTHC. Public art creates a positive feeling in the community, brings tourism to the area, will create more interest in the Salt Lake Tennis and Health Club, and beautifies this area which could use some beautification. Another benefit to public murals is that graffiti artists have an appreciation for public art and do not tag or mark up murals. This area is constantly being painted with graffiti and SLTHC must clean it up. Creating a beautiful piece of art here helps the club and the overall beauty of the I-80 corridor.

Due to its location along I-80 – one of the busiest interstate highways in the U.S. – this mural will be one of the most viewed public art pieces in the country. Another draw for this mural, is the recently constructed, Parley’s Trail – Parley’s Rails Trails and Tunnels (PRATT) – an 8-mile walking and biking trail connecting the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to the Provo-Jordan River Parkway. This trail, which is used by hundreds of thousands of people every year, passes within 10 feet of the mural site.
